That Year Flew By!

So I guess it's been a year since I posted!  I am still a little reluctant to post with pics of the girls, and they're (one of) the reasons I haven't been posting.  I thought it was time to start again, because Reese had another birthday.  I can't believe she's 6!

Will & Katelyn came to watch Reese cheer at the EWU/Montana basketball game.

 Here's our little Eastern Eaglet

She's happy to be 6!  And with a new haircut!

The whole 6 pack.

Reese

Reese has had some ups and downs this winter....

Her most favorite event of the whole year (not including gift-giving holidays such as Christmas & B-day) is without a doubt the Daddy-Daughter dance.  She LOVES to go to with her Daddy and dance the night away.

She had some pretty intense pain in her knee that the doctor suspected may be bacterial arthritis.  He sent us to the E.R. where the doctor and nurse were waiting for us in the waiting room.  They immediately took blood, shortly followed by x-ray and ultrasound.  It turned out to be a ruptured Baker's Cyst in her knee.  They are very painful, but not dangerous and they heal on their own.  Poor thing.  That was something like her 10th stay in the hospital.

She is ridiculously excited for soccer to start next week.  She has all her gear and asks almost daily how many more days until she has practice.  We're hoping the excitement lasts past the first practice!

She has been taking ballet & tap classes and loving it.  She's very flexible, strong & graceful.

Her preschool took a trip to the recycling center and she got to sit in a garbage truck!

We took a hike in Riverside State Park to enjoy the beautiful spring!

And now she's 5!!!

Bella loves Reese

The kids' cousin Bella is the sweetest thing!  And she loves Coleman and Reese!  She wanted to be next to them and in their pictures...

C & R in front of Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.  A classic in my book.

 Until Bella sees them...

 And wants in!...

 Now she's happy!

 They do love each other.

Thanksgiving at Disney

Over Thanksgiving break, we got to go to California to see Jason's Aunt & Uncle and see a little of the Magic Kingdom.  Here's a bit of what we did:

Coleman played goalie at the science center.

Reese, Bella, and uncle Pat in a huge chair.

 Lego Land!!

Waiting for the parade to start.

Eating lunch in Flo's cafe, Radiator Springs.

 Lightning McQueen driving by!

Reese on Autotopia.  20 yards into her first experience driving a car we had hit the edges pretty hard several times.  She looked at me with a big grin and said "Well, I guess I'm not a very good driver!"  That's true, sweetheart.  Very true.

"Mom!  Stop laughing so hard!  I'm trying to concentrate on the road!!"

December & January

Here are a few of my favs from this winter:
 Trying on Mom's boots.

Learning a few notes from Dad.

Coleman was pumped to see Thomas dressed as Santa.  Reese thought Thomas was creepy in a Santa suit.  She wouldn't even touch him!

Coleman's favorite time of the year has arrived:  basketball season!!

Broken Arm

He tried to jump to the fourth monkey bar.  He missed.
"Coleman, the fourth bar is the death bar."  Teagan Simon (neighbor who broke his arm the same way on the same bars!)

Driving Dreams

Coleman got to experience an unfulfilled childhood dream of mine:  driving a golf cart all by myself.  (My first time driving a golf cart was after I was married, I think!)  Coleman is a better driver than I would have been, I'm sure.

Another unfulfilled childhood dream: Reese got to drive a car!

And a dream fulfilled!  I got to fly co-pilot in an airplane!

Coleen (the very thoughtful pilot), Bill and I after our flight.

Big Lake

We got to spend Patrick's birthday with him in Mt Vernon.  We had a blast!

The boys.

Paddle boarding.

Paddle board yoga.

Out on the lake with dad.

It was beautiful!

Can't believe its been a decade!  Happy anniversary!

Summer Fun

We've stayed home to have fun a lot after being gone for almost 2 months this summer.
Enjoying the swing.

Trying out the neighbor's slip-n-slide.  These things never get old.

A timid first run.

Paparazzi style pic, so she wouldn't pose.

I have to get action shots in order to get a sincere smile.  She's telling me a joke.

Hanging out in Mom's sweatshirt on an unusually cool summer day.
