The Great Pumpkin Harvest

We decided to NOT plant a vegetable garden this year because we are gone during the time when its important to weed your garden.  In the past we've come home from summer project to chest-high weeds and ankle-high vegetable plants.  So this year we used Round-Up to ensure a clean slate for future gardens.  We came home from Tahoe to find two HUGE pumpkin plants.  Apparently the seeds from last year's pumpkins, which we threw out in the garden in November, took root.  So today was the great pumpkin harvest.  We cut 12 perfect pumpkins today.  In addition to these, there are two very large, jack-o-lantern type pumpkins waiting in our crawlspace to be carved.  It's so fun that God decided these pumpkins should grow in our garden!  I've never had such a successful harvest!

The harvest (most of it, anyway)!
